Our original dinner plan included the tourist favorite the Union Oyster House. Unfortunately, they were booked and further away than another Boston favorite- Legal Seafood. Ron wasn’t that hungry, so, we split 3 appetizers…in theory. I say in theory because Ron ate most of the fried Rhode Island style with garlic and peppers, I ate most o the coconut shrimp and we split the crab cake. The crab cake was the real winner of the meal. Wow. I am pretty sure there was no filling in this crab cake. As a drink, I had a favorite of mine- a peach Bellini. We ordered dessert to split. It was a vanilla mousse with soft, warm caramel at the bottom and topped with berries. My apologizes for the photo but it was so yummy we devoured it.

It’s my understanding the that union oyster house actually isn’t all that good. I’ve never been there for a whole meal but I had chowder and oysters once. Not good. I’ve been there a few times for drinks and even that was a disappointment.
Union Oyster House was seriously the best thing I’ve ever ate! I wanted to be on Food Network describing the deliciousness of my meal the whole time it was going down my gullet. I’ve been to Legal Seafood in NJ and I thought it was OK but it was no comparison to Union Oyster House!
