We like to eat food grown locally, fresh wholesome, real food. We like food made with real butter, sugar and whole ingredients. I try to stay away from over processed food (specifically, we follow Michael Pollan’s “Food Rules.”). We prefer to stay home and cook rather than eat out. We use Cooking Light Magazine, Food and Wine Magazine, Real Simple Magazine and other recipe books as resources. Our favorite TV chefs include Alton Brown, Ina Garten, Rchard Blais and pretty much all of the Top Chef Masters.
We don’t look at food at just fuel. It is a source of love and comfort. We like to eat together. We like cooking and baking for others.
and I LOVE THIS:
The FOOD52 Manifesto
If you cook, your family will eat dinner together.
If you cook, you will naturally have a more sustainable household.
If you cook, you’ll set a lifelong example for your children.
If you cook, you’ll understand what goes into food and will eat more healthily.
If you cook, you’ll make your home an important place in your life.
If you cook, you’ll make others happy.
If you cook, people will remember you.
