Green monster returns.

Just got done at the nail salon. Oh la la. I am starving! But since I am sick, I wanted to pump up the vitamins. My green monster contains: ice, 2 handfuls spinach, 2 tablespoons flax oil, 2 tablespoons white chocolate peanut butter and a frozen banana. I took it outside since it’s gorgeous out today!

We like Hike.

After dog day, we headed straight for French Creek State Park for a hike. We did a low impact 2 miles and walked all of it. Colby loves hikes, in fact we don’t keep her on a leash and she thinks it’s fantastic. When we got home, Ron and I were tired. I think Colby was beyond tired. I was in need of some greens, especially since my lunch was not a nutritional superstar. I blended up a green monster. My monster contained: 1 cup skim milk, 2 tablespoons flax oil, 2 big handfuls of spinach, 2 tablespoons white chocolate peanut butter, 1 teaspoon raw honey. Yum!

Computer Glitches and What I have been eating…

So, I am not a blog or computer expert. In fact, it is pretty freaking amazing that this blog works and is up and running at all. I goofed up and was locked out of my web site for the past 24 hours. Now, things have been straightened out and we can finally get back to business as usual.

This morning, I made another green monster and drank it in the car on my way to my acupuncture appointment. It was tasty. It’s really funny to see Ron’s reaction to the green smoothie. He’s happy that I am drinking something healthy, but he is not convinced that it actually tastes good. It does.

I love my acupuncturist and how I feel after a session. We refer to it as acu-stoned. Yes, we’re inappropriate, but it’s a pretty good description of the way I feel afterwards. On the way home, I stopped by Starbucks for an iced green tea with one pump of syrup. I also ran into Target for a few things.

When I finally got home, I was starving. So I broiled some leftover chicken breast on toast with a slice of sharp white cheddar. Yum! It also had a small smear of bbq sauces on it. It hit the spot. I am trying not to eat too much today because I am saving up for something special tonight.

Tonight, we’re celebrating Ron’s birthday (it was last week) at a fancy French restaurant. The place is called the Green Hills Inn and it’s amazing. Ron and I have only eaten there twice, since it is expensive. But Ron’s mom is treating and since we have talked so highly of it, she’s really excited, too. I promise that I will take bunches of pictures and tell you about all of it.

I am so happy that the blog is working again! I really like blogging and missed it!

Green Monster Virgin

I read a lot of food blogs. Most of them are focused on healthy eating and exercise and most of them feature GREEN MONSTERS!  I have been interested but intimidated by them for the past year that I have been reading about them. The benefits claimed include: better skin, healthier hair and more energy. Today, I tried my first one and dare i say? IT WAS DELICIOUS!

Yes, I drank a spinach smoothie. It was awesome.
