Leave the gun, take the cannoli.

Last night, after dinner, we stopped by Mike’s Pastry for cannoli with the plan to eat them for breakfast. I was so excited, I posted a picture of the Mike’s box on facebook. My friend, Irish, saw this and told me that Modern Pastry was much better than Mike’s. Naturally, this meant that after eating one giant cannoli for breakfast, we headed back to the North End and bought another cannoli frm Modern Pastry. These calories were justified as research for the blog. Obviously. While Mike’s cannoli was amazing, Modern Pastry’s was beyond. Modern Pastry fills there cannolis to orde so the shell doesn’t have time to get soggy. It just tastes fresher. But let’s be honest, they were both delicious.

For lunch we ate at the famous No Name Restaurant. Ron and I split a steamed platter of lobstah, scallops and shrimp. It was perfect. Now, we are off to the airport. Thanks, Boston, you have been good to us.

Legal Seafood

Our original dinner plan included the tourist favorite the Union Oyster House. Unfortunately, they were booked and further away than another Boston favorite- Legal Seafood. Ron wasn’t that hungry, so, we split 3 appetizers…in theory. I say in theory because Ron ate most of the fried Rhode Island style with garlic and peppers, I ate most o the coconut shrimp and we split the crab cake. The crab cake was the real winner of the meal. Wow. I am pretty sure there was no filling in this crab cake. As a drink, I had a favorite of mine- a peach Bellini. We ordered dessert to split. It was a vanilla mousse with soft, warm caramel at the bottom and topped with berries. My apologizes for the photo but it was so yummy we devoured it.
